WorkForce Center Resource Areas - Assistive Technology
Resource Areas offer assistive technology to help customers with disabilities to use software and web sites and to read printed materials. To enhance the effectiveness of software used by persons with low vision (Zoom Text and JAWS), Resource Areas have at least one 17 inch monitor; some have 21 inch monitors. In addition, for telephone use, each office has a TTY for persons with hearing impairments, and access to the Speech to Speech Service for persons with speech impairments.
Assistive technology available includes:
- Closed Caption Decoder-Enabled TV/VCR
- Job Access with Speech (JAWS) for Windows
- OVAC (Okay Vision Aide Corporation) Reader
- Pocket Talker (personal amplifier)
- ZoomText Software (print enlarging computer software)
